Notice this rail tail is accessible to the handicapped, unlike other trails and parks in Washington County. The WMRT has been very successful -- it has been extended three times since it was first established.

Historical Plaque Explaining the Confederate Ransom of Hagerstown located at the north end of CWRT. CWRT has a rich history of Civil War events along its entire 23 mile length. A local historical organization, SHAF, has offered to provide many plaques for the CWRT. Hagerstown has some 50 Civil War interpretive panels.
